Many of the TOP Google advertising grease trap sales companies are mis-selling grease traps to unsuspecting end users.  Usually in the mis-selling of undersized or unsealed units.  Wrongly specified size is the users responsibility and relying on tables or catalogues stating a particular size will comply to regulation using 2 - sinks etc. when the actual capacities are well below the requirement or an automatic unit is sold as sealed unit when in fact it is not.

Another popular mis-sell is for enzyme dosing with claims that no grease trap is required.  This is totally false and leaves the operator open to serious fines when problems occur.

Grease trap sizing requires a careful assessment of the type of food and service management in the establishment.

Capacity of sinks, type and size of pipework and variations on chemicals in a specific calculation to comply with legislation.

Critical information as the care of drain system and training given to staff is important.

Grease traps manufactured outside of UK/EU that do not carry the relevant CE/ UK certification are not permitted.

Water Companies prefer Restaurant Operators to provide sizing and design details when installing or replacing a grease trap. However, we provide this as a free service.

"It's unwise to pay too much...but it's worse to pay too little. When you pay too much, you lose a little money - that is all. When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot - it can't be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.”
